My riding future
Not sure where this is headed, but I know that I’m still not enjoying it like I used to.
However I do believe it has something to do with the current state of my bikes:
- Goose is running… just. The engine has gone all noisy again and is blowing smoke… again. Really not sure (even with engine 2.0 in him) how much longer the old beast has before a total strip down is in order.
Either way, its making me very dubious about riding him. Also the suspension is horribly, horribly bad. However $’s at the moment just dont stretch to a trip to Laurie.
- The 109 still isnt right. It’s still running rough and down on power. I’m lost as to where to go next, but I feel it will involve a mechanic and a lot of $’s. Typhoon suggested throwing some injector cleaner through it. It’s worth a go, but I’m not holding my breath.
- The A100 is still in a million pieces waiting for Supa’s next visit.
So where to now?
In theory, I’ve got some money coming from Germany. I’m not banking on it and the time frame on these things is always all over the place. Assuming the money does arrive, very first thing will be to get the 109 into the mechanic and sorted once and for all!
In fact I might just drop it in there now and get them to at least diagnose it. Hmmm… Then I’d know what I’m up against.
Next will be the repairs on the Celica. Its a great car – it just needs some TLC.
A possible next step will be to buy a commuter bike. And I know *exactly* what it will be 🙂 As everyone knows, I have always missed Betty (my old XJR) Anyways, $4-5000 will easily see me on another one. They are a brilliant commuter/tourer/twisties/do everything bike and it would be terrific to have one again. Option number two is a little more ‘out there’. A Yamaha TRX 850. A Hooligan bike. Always loved them, but never ridden one. Would certainly be worth a look.
Anyways – thats where I’m at.
Hopefully some bike repairs will rejuvenate my biking mojo.
