Stage 2, part 1
Tonight my new wiring loom turn up, so it was time to begin.
First step was to drop the old engine. Simple enough with a large trolley jack underneath to softly lower it out.
With both engines on the bench it was time to work out what’s what.
Bugger.
The biggest difference between the two is that on the Postie, the carby points backwards, and forwards on the Cub. However it seems the Cun intake manifold is incompatible with the Postie engine and I cannot turn the Postie manifold around as it then blocks about a quarter of the intake port.
*sigh*
I think I have two options.
- Make the existing manifold work by working the head
- Find a manifold that will fit the Postie engine, but points forward
As for the 2nd option, I’ve just finished spamming all the thumpstar sellers in Australia 🙂
