I still have my first DSLR. My ever faithful Pentax K100d (circa 2006). I bought it at the time because I knew nothing about cameras and according to the little ticket hanging off it at the Dept store; it ‘seemed’ to offer the best bang-for-buck.
But I’ll never sell it.
It’s been a great second camera to have around. A good example was the trip the War Memorial a couple of months ago where I put the 50mm on the K5 and the 24mm on the K100d; worked really well. And at only 6MP; it still takes a damn good photo!
So I treated it to a present and got a portrait grip for it. It arrived this morning. It’s nopt a battery grip (the K100d doesn’t have the necessary connections for that) but it does give my large hands something more sizable to hold on to, and a second shutter release button.
